Kirkpatrick, Gosar invite public to town hall about Superior Mine
PINAL COUNTY – U.S. Reps. Ann Kirkpatrick (AZ-01) and Paul Gosar (AZ-04) invite the public to attend a congressional town hall Aug. 20 in Superior to discuss legislative efforts to revive the Superior Mine project and bring thousands of jobs to Arizona’s Copper Corridor.
In February, the Arizona representatives introduced the Southeast Arizona Land Exchange and Conservation Act (HR 687). In May, their legislation passed the House Natural Resources Committee and now awaits a vote before the full House of Representatives.
Kirkpatrick said, “Our bipartisan jobs bill is moving forward, but there’s more work to be done. And that includes having more discussions with the folks who live and work around these mining communities in District One. I believe we can create these good jobs while also respecting and addressing any outstanding concerns.”
Gosar said, “Getting this critical jobs bill across the finish line requires that Arizonans rise up and let their voices be heard. Nearly 4,000 jobs and billions of dollars in economic activity are at stake. I invite the public to join us in Superior to let your representatives know that you stand for jobs and economic growth.”
