About Ann

Born and raised in Greater Arizona, Representative Ann Kirkpatrick’s first words were in Apache, and she has spent her whole life serving her home state - as a mom, as a prosecutor, a teacher, a small business owner, a community leader, a state legislator and now as a Member of Congress.

As a prosecutor for Coconino County and Sedona, Ann worked with law enforcement personnel to put drug traffickers and violent criminals behind bars. As a state representative for Arizona’s Legislative District 2 from 2005 to 2007, she sponsored legislation to keep the ingredients for meth out of the hands of drug dealers and worked with members of both parties to help grow our economy with tax credits for solar energy and small businesses.

In November 2008, Ann Kirkpatrick was elected to Congress with the support of law enforcement, firefighters and teachers and a decisive majority of people from across the political spectrum. Since then, the Congresswoman has taken a leadership role in working across the aisle on nonpartisan legislation to jumpstart our economy and get people back to work, stop the spread of violence and drugs from the Mexican cartels into this country, pay our eternal debt of gratitude to our Veterans and make real progress on the issues that are important to Arizonans.
